Read All About It!
This morning, Mr. Murtagh’s 5th years were ‘booked’ in to head down to Cow’s Lane in an effort to make reading exciting again!
An important stop had to be made first, though. Mr. Murtagh and Ms. Davis brought the girls into the stunning Queen of Tarts cafe where they indulged in cake, scones, tea, and hot chocolate, before the all-important trip to the Gutter Bookshop.
At this famous bookshop, the girls were entitled to one book of their choice. Difficult decisions were made as the girls chose from a huge range of books that they would look forward to reading over the Christmas holiday.
It was a lovely morning and enjoyed by all. At Warrenmount, literacy is a tremendously important (and enjoyable) factor in the development of our students.
As Dr. Seuss once stated: ‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.’
