Dear Parent/Guardian
Since my last letter, we have continued to work hard to ensure that the logistics of returning to school are well underway. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding with us as we work through implementing a number of control measures to prevent the introduction and spread of Covid-19 in schools and to protect the health, safety and welfare of all members of our school community in line with the Department of Educations and Skills Covid-19 Response Plan for the Safe and Sustainable Reopening of Post Primary Schools. These measures will be reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis based on advice from the DES, HSE and NPHET.
Parent/Guardian and Student Support
In safely re-opening our school and continuing to remain open, we will be depending very much on you the parents/guardians and students to work with us in following all the recommended protocols, many of which are covered below. We all have a key role to play, to look out for and support one another in the coming school term. The school can only look after the students’ time in school, so we are urging parents and students to ensure that they continue to adhere to the HSE advice re social distancing, cough and sneezing etiquette, hand hygiene practices and correct use of and care of face coverings outside of school time.
Hygiene Protocol and Procedures
Enhanced cleaning measures will be in place throughout the school day and a deep clean will take place at the end of every school day. However, each student has a responsibility to ensure that they play their part in keeping their use of the school and their work space, materials and equipment, as clean as possible, following the agreed procedures in place.
Holidays Abroad
Parents/guardians are reminded that if your daughter/son has been on holiday abroad, they are required to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days on return to Ireland. This is critical to ensure that all members of the school community are kept safe and not exposed to any risk. Parents/guardians are also reminded, as is always our advice, that no holidays should be scheduled to take place during school time.
Pastoral Supports
We are conscious that students have been out of school for an extended period of time and we have a suite of supports available to assist their safe and happy transition back to school. If you have any concerns in this regard, please make contact with their Year Head via the School Office.
Information Update on School Facebook, Website and Student Teams
The school will be in contact with you again the week of 24 August by text and e-mail. Information will also be updated on our school Facebook page website and Teams platform. Other information may also come through the post.
Please continue to keep an eye on all our communication channels as evidence regarding Covid-19 and the epidemiological situation is, as you know, evolving on a regular basis. We want to ensure that you are fully informed and re-assured regarding planning for our return to school and have a picture of how the school will be operating in these changed times.
High Risk Students
Students with identified high risk underlying health conditions or who may be living with a vulnerable family member and who consequently may have a difficulty attending school, are asked to contact me or Ms. Garry by phone on 4547520 or e-mail at info@warrenmountss.ie.
We are so looking forward to welcoming all students back to school in the coming weeks and to working closely with you to ensure they settle back into school and achieve of their best in all aspects of school life.
